ONE TO ONE TUITION
I am available for one-to-one teaching for Gypsy Jazz and Jazz guitar. I am currently only visiting students at their homes for one to one tuition and also teaching online, these can be done via Skype, Zoom or FaceTime according to preference. I aim to tailor each lesson to the individual students needs. All lessons are followed up with lesson material on Soundslice.com, where the student has their own coursework page where they can review the material, submit performances and make comments, all completely private between the student and me.
I'm pleased to announce that I have joined the teaching faculty of Robin Nolan's Gypsy Jazz Club and will be regularly running courses in Gypsy Jazz guitar playing there!

Testimonials:
"Tim is an incredible teacher. He’s super intelligent and pretty much a jazz and music virtuoso. At the same time he’s down to earth and patient. Everyone learns differently, and wants different things out of music. Tim totally gets that. He doesn’t try to fit me into some kind of a strict pedagogical concept and is really sensitive to what’s actually important, enjoyment of music. At the same time, he knows exactly how to teach jazz guitar theory.
He’s also extremely generous with his time and an all around cool guy to hang out with for an hour a week."

"I have been studying with Tim as a route to develop my own guitar playing and really appreciate the level of musical knowledge he brings to the lesson. Working with him is relaxed and always illuminating.
My playing is more informed and a bit more fun due to Tim’s input. No hesitation in recommending him to improve your guitar playing and musical theory and...if gypsy jazz is your thing then you are in the right place."
- Andy Brown, Guitar Tutor
"Tim is a fantastic guitar tutor with a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to all things jazz. I’ve been having lessons with him for six months now and have noticed definite improvements to my playing. In particular, Tim has been able to simplify what is often complex jazz theory and put everything into real-life context, which has made things much easier to get to grips with. He has a relaxed, thoughtful approach to teaching and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to improve their playing."
